Rules & Valid Characters for Domain Names
- A domain name may contain between 3 and 63 characters
- English-language letters – are allowed (e.g. fourtwenty.com.au)
- Any numbers 0-9 are allowed (e.g. 420.com.au)
- Hyphens (-) are allowed (e.g. www.four-twenty.com.au)
- A combination of letters, numbers and hyphens is also allowed (e.g. 4-twenty.com.au)
- Domains cannot start or end in a hyphen, or have two hyphens consecutively
- Spaces, special characters and other forms of punctuation are not allowed (i.e. !, #, $, &, etc.)
- Domain names are not cAsE sEnSiTiVe – so fourtwenty.com.au is just the same as FOURTWENTY.com.au
- www. is not actually part of the domain name
- You can register as many domain names as you wish
If you already have a domain registered with us…
If you already have a domain registered with Ripple Networking, you can link both domains to your one account. When prompted during the registration process, simply enter your existing domain name, user ID and password to link the domains. Once linked, you'll be able to manage domain contacts, nameservers and passwords – all from the one management console.
